Defender updates frequency is an ongoing mystery, there is even a thread on it that just will not die. Anyway, What I've found here:
1) about 10 minutes after a restart, the sys will do an auto check and apply if found.
2) MS seems to release new Def updates (if available) at xx:40 on the clock. i.e. 8:40, 9:40, etc.
There is an almost rhyme and reason to it all, but still predictably unpredictable. There! I'm sure that clears it all up nicely! Not!
Also ....the "Working on it" only happens on this computer, on my backup, its instant....no working on it ever shows. Just saw that yesterday. Both rigs running same version of Windows.
Morning, AD. Still hanging around waiting for the "On Call" phone to ring?
Yeah, with the storm and rain coming though here.... I figure it is only a matter of time. Will be hopping in the shower soon so I will be ready just in case.

Yeah, this doesn't look real pretty. Don't forget your water-wings!
TBH, I am a little surprised at the light rain coming from it. It has only been a steady drizzle.... think I heard thunder once last night. Other than that one rumble, it has been rather docile.

Good morning/afternoon/evening folks. How is everyone?
It’s a cloudy, grey 19°F/-7°C. Warming to 21°F/-6°C today. Duplicate of yesterday. We had a couple more of inches of snow last night.
I see the East Coast is getting hammered. Hope y'all...
