Afternoon beeman
Back from the Depot. Tons of stuff in the store but nothing you need. Sorry sir we're out of stock.
I thought that is why they computerized inventory, to issue automatic re-order points.
All good points.
My Depot is the pits. Self fulfilling actually. They don't manage stock well so people go to the store about 40 minutes away. When you challenge them they say they don't get a lot of foot traffic, sure you don't get a lot of traffic because the stock is always out.
I would order online but today I wanted to see what they had as I was going to be in tight places with a very non standard install. You handle the stuff you kind of get ideas. You put the puzzle together and you just need this one piece to make it all go, sorry out of stock.
The dishwasher drain in the cavity is 1" flexible ABS tubing, heading under the floor connected to who knows what. Thankfully the building is older so there is a building trap under the front lawn or this would just be pumping out sewer gas. The water supply comes up the same hole and stands about a foot high pointing forward. This needs to be dropped to four inches and pointed to the side. Can't sweat a new valve on, would vapourize the ABS. Thought I would try a Sharkbite fitting. Electrical plug is tacked on wall with a drywall screw, bet it isn't even grounded.
My Brother in Law got a dishwasher from them, had to wait a week for the installer to deliver it. It was delivered and was DOA. This was 10 days ago and he still has not heard from Loews. He went there yesterday to demand a refund and for them to pick up the dead one. He is in Florida, so I do not know the result of that encounter.
Well have you been in the plumbing section with all the fittings. People pick stuff out, look at it and then just throw it back anywhere.
If you have the energy (time) and you look through eight other boxes around what you are looking for you might just find it.
I was helping some people today and the associate came up to me and asked if I would be interested in working there. One day I was there and I couldn't take it so I jumped in. A young lad was telling this couple they could not submerge a submersible sump pump because it was electrical.
