    BAM! Blackout!

And only when I tried to change a single light bulb with the power off! Bulb exploded (yes, EXPLODED!) in my hands (not hurt) and suddenly all things went dark in the room. I blew all the fuses and well... lamp. Gone. Bulb. In pieces of glass on the floor (already removed)

But how could this happen? Isn't it so that you can just remove a simple bulb with the power off and replace it with another? Anyways, need to replace the living room lamp any time soon...

    Something short-circuited it...

The power was not off if "suddenly all things went dark in the room" - perhaps the wrong circuit was switched off.
