Part of the reason why I choose to have a front end for Windows Firewall that will not let any unsigned app access the internet without my permission. I know it won't stop all that stuff and what not, but it is a nice thing to have.
It's printer vulnerability, not Windows software one. If you have printer on network, which is a very nice feature, it could bypass your system. Strong router firewall would help here, but I have one from my Internet provider..

Yeah I have a firewall in my ISP router that is pretty dang strict if I crank it up on high. It will block a LOT of things not used in normal daily internet use. I leave it on medium.

I turned it on high to see if it messes with my normal usage for a few hours lol. I know it blocked quite a few things back when I tested it before but I don't have the same things on my network these days.

First test it blocked. I keep a private stream of my office door going when away from home and it straight blocked the connection. No bueno lol

Small cottages on water can be very relaxing.

Well I made a note to check my firmware on my laser.

    Off to watch golf.

    Take care

HP has finally updated firmware for my Deskjet all in one printer. Didn't think they would, since it's older, cheap machine...

    Check yours
I don't buy and HP products except computers because HP is notorious for not updating them when a new version of Windows comes out. It has been better since Windows 10, but I find Brother printers much better than HP.

Think I've heard that before My HP is serving me just fine (of course this statement will produce an error in near future, but it's true )

    Afternoon/Evening, everybody!

Know I'm going against the grain, but my Canon MX410 all-in-one has served me well now for over 6+ years. All I do is feed it every now and then. USB 2.0 connected. Lappy is networked to it thru DT.

I only print a couple times a year at the most. Somehow when I last moved I lost my power cable to the printer. I have looked online and the power cable I need is more than some cheap printers that would serve me fine. Probably will still get the blasted cable for 30 bux since mine has a scanner and color capabilities, and I have full ink cartridges for it.

I don't even have a Printer, used to but the cartridges cost more than the printer did. Hi AD.
