I have playing with my new camera Yes it works but there soft ware leaves a lot to be desired. Does not work with FF cannot install the plug in It will install with IE and works good with Google they have an App that it will work good also. I also have the phone app installed on my phone it will show live feed but will not show recorded video I guess it is a intentional bug to push you to the cloud have not set it up for cloud storage and will not do that.

I have it set up to watch the outside cat feeders and it works well do not need much light to get color as I all I have is two 10 watt bulbs for light and does well I would say about 10 times better than a smart phone.
I've started to use Yi cameras for security installs - Yes I know they're chinese but I go for practical usage rather than source

YI Home Camera | YI Technology

Software is great, on phones, and good on PC (multiview of up to 4 cameras) Cameras will take a Micros SD card to 32GB for recording from motion sensor, there is a cloud service but it's not a requirement

I have used the fixed units and the motorised which has follow focus as well as Motion sensor, I use 720p units but 1080p are available both have full Auto night vision which works to around 10 metres. These are available direct or from Amazon/Ebay they are designed for indoor use but an outdoor enclosure is available for a few dollars on eBay

This one is outdoor and it is a PTZ camera I have it on daylight vision now at night if I were to have it on night vision it would be black and white. Night vision is supposed to be
328ft Night Vision or 99.9 meters.
