My offsite backup is safely offsite.

I'm on second roof. First one failed early, shingles actually broke down. There was a huge class action lawsuit, at least in Canada, when all the shingle makers went offshore and started producing crap. Didn't last ten years. I had two houses done, both failed.

On one they paid 50% for replacement but on main house I couldn't / wouldn't wait for papers to be processed so I had to foot bill.

This one better out last me.
My stepson told me he only uses 3 TAB shingles, all the other types are junk and will not last Ken, they are also the most expensive to purchase of course.

To me, the architectural shingles look like they're falling off right after installation!

I had three tab. There was a period between 2003 and 2006 when shingles were made in China. They removed 25lbs of material from each pack. All the big names settled, cost them millions.

I have Architectual now rated to wind speeds of 130kph. That big wind storm that tore the roofs of in neighbour hood didn't imapct mine at all.

There is also something in the installation. The number of nails also impacts there ability to hold, which makes sense and when they are applied. One roof I watched being installed late November, when it was to cold for tar to melt blew off the first wind storm in December.

Need to read whole article on cost and or performance.
