Same with my desk. Dad made it, solid teak.

He didn't consider doors when he built so it doesn't go through standard doors on dolly if you stand it on end.

You have to carry or prop on dolly. Thankfully front skirt doesn't come to floor so you sort of hook it around door frame. On the next model, my younger brother's, doorways were planned for.

This is just a old Steel desk I got somewhere for free, weighs a ton empty.

Yes I'm experienced with steel desks. They are heavier than my wood desk. I had to get father in laws out of basement. I took it apart and took drawers out. Still a PIA to carry up stairs. We scrapped it along with a ton of other metal stuff he had.
