It was an older home, Keith. It had already been through three floods, so the owners decided to put it up on concrete risers. Something went wrong . . . terribly wrong . . .

We got our first scammers since living in this house in Arkansas.

Guy came up on our porch and rang the doorbell, then stood well back. So, I opened the door and he said, "I'm with Benson and I'm here to inspect your roof." The way he said Benson, made it sound like Benton.

I looked at him and asked, "Why?"

To which he replied, "After the hail storm the other night."

"Oh? We haven't had any hail."

He said, "Oh, yeah, there was bad hail the other night."

I said, "We still didn't get any hail."

He replied, "Well, it was hailing down the road."

And I told him, "Well, we didn't get any. So, we don't need the roof inspected."

Stoopid scammers . . . next time he shows up I'll have my chainsaw at the ready!
