I'm not one to kill wild animals either but this one raccoon we had here did have a target on its back.

Found a guy online and he said if he relocates he guaranteed no returns. He is a licensed hunter, trapper so I can imagine the raccoon was destined to become a hat.

Then the raccoon disappeared, imagine it was causing damage to other properties and someone with a shorter fuse dealt with it.

We also have lots of water and our recent zoning laws allow chickens. None of my neighbours have gone with chickens but this will be interesting when they do. We have lots and lots of raccoons.

    Morning Andre. Locky still resting?

Not sure how many folks eat possum or raccoon here, but one of the local favorites is Squirrel pot pie, that & the occasional Woodchuck. My Wife's Dad says he tried some when he was young.
We ate squirrel when I was a kid, but not woodchuck . . . we had a pet one named Jenny.

Yes your zombie raccoons made our news a few months back. What ever is on the other side of the lake makes to the other side, northbound and southbound.

Raccoons can be nasty when cornered and their droppings can contain a nasty parasite.

Best to steer clear of something staring you down, especially the ones as Bob says that are smiling.

Someone around here we know had a pet one, he said they were great except they chew on anything at ground level.

My Wife had a pet Skunk when she was younger & she liked it, said it was a pretty neat pet.

Yep, folks around here say they can be pretty nasty & tear you a new one pretty quick.

We had one on the back porch & it came up to me, I gave it some cat food. As soon as I gave it the food, it kind of hissed at me & apparently didn't want me near the food. But when it finished it came up to me again & I thought I better go back in the house. Didn't see it much after that though.

If you see one in The Daytime it either has rabies or is sick. Stay away from it.
