The laws up here use to state you couldn't relocate a raccoon more than 5K (5000 yards). That law was revised to 1K (ten football fields) and at that it was expected the raccoon would not survive as it didn't know where to get water or food.

Are you kidding, at 1K the damn thing would be home before me.

Now you are allow to kill any raccoon that is causing damage. So you have to ask yourself why else would you relocate a raccoon, maybe they play their music to loud.
Have they considered it's a wild animal & surely they have some sort of survival skills.....like finding food & water....like they have been all those years.

I can see if it's a baby of some sort, but sometimes you just gotta wonder.

    Speaking of abusing Raccoons.....

Don't blame you, because not sure of a possum will kill something live like a chicken, but I wouldn't put it beyond them.
Yep, possums are as bad as coons, if not worse . . . we're pretty sure that's what got our chickens, since they were partially eaten.

Sounds like you have a whole lot of wildlife you never knew about until you started trapping. Keep going, maybe you'll catch a Chubacabra

Chickens are allowed inside city limits in this area. So, we're allowed to relocate things trying to eat 'em.

Because this is a very wooded area with lots of water sources (all of Arkansas is), we can relocate wild animals to almost anywhere. The place Russ releases them is beside a creek, because we don't want them to die; just leave our premises.

I'm not one to kill wild animals, unless it's for food. And, everyone knows possums and coons aren't edible, although some do eat 'em. Barf! So, the only solution is to take them to a very rural area so they won't have anyone else's chickens to feed on.

I hope not! Besides, I think those things are only in extreme south Texas.
