    Morning Wynona, Gracie & Lucy.

Any more probs with the chickens or did you catch all the culprits?
Caught a raccoon last night! He's on his way to a spot in the boonies between the neighboring town and here. Hopefully we'll catch more tonight.

Maybe she's been sneaking chickens .

Yeah, doesn't work for all of them but the vet told us if you put a towel over their head, they can't see anything & they ussually calm down. That's what he did when giving kitty a shot. And surprisingly, he held still for it.
Nope, she can't eat that much (what was missing on the dead chicken) at one time, or even over a night. Besides, she hasn't slacked off on her Meow Mix for kittens! And . . . no chicken breath . . .

I think I've Ft. Knoxed the chicken pen, but I'm still locking them in at night.

Yeah, pretty sure coons will go after a live bird also. They're resourceful & hard to keep out of things.

Good luck with keeping the critters out. Maybe you could set up some motion activated lights, that's supposed to be a deterrent for critters.

Coons generally just go in for the kill, and only eat the heads, but that's not acceptable, so they gotta go.

I'm thinking that after everything's caught, that I will continue locking the chickens in their house at night. Much safer!

    Morning Mike

    Morning Borg

    Morning Josey

    Morning Wynona

The laws up here use to state you couldn't relocate a raccoon more than 5K (5000 yards). That law was revised to 1K (ten football fields) and at that it was expected the raccoon would not survive as it didn't know where to get water or food.

Are you kidding, at 1K the damn thing would be home before me.

Now you are allow to kill any raccoon that is causing damage. So you have to ask yourself why else would you relocate a raccoon, maybe they play their music to loud.

Don't blame you, because not sure of a possum will kill something live like a chicken, but I wouldn't put it beyond them.
