Good morning Beeman & Buzzy, its cloudy, wet and cool outside here this morning. We needed some rain bad.
It rained 1.23" Wednesday and .23" yesterday rain in the forecast for the next 7 days needed the rain in May, got it too late for our main honey flow but we needed it for our summer flowers.

I was thinking of trying that but I think if Classic Shell croaks permanently I'll just make do with the W10 menu. I've already got access to my most used programs via FreeLaunchBar all nicely categorised.
And I've got ObjectDock. I can play with that and add some StackDocklets (if you remember them! Really dating myself).

And I have RocketDock but I mainly use that for quick File System access.

Keith, just a little FYI.... For kicks, on the Insider I ran the Classic Shell Utility which digs deep for uninstalling. Re-installed it, and no change whatsoever. Then installed StartisBack. Went in fine, runs without croaking. Looks kinda almost like Classic Shell, but is a little baby cousin wannabe version of it. Nowhere near as functional or customizable. 30 day trial. $2.99 to buy. It's cute, kinda, but no thanks. I think the market value reflects it's net worth......
Does CS not work in this build?

First time, then kaput! We think MS has changed some kernel code or API calls that have dealt it a death blow.....

Sometime you just have to do a repair install of CS

No. In 17692 it opens fully once, then opens a little bit next time and then won't open at all.
