question about the size of a lithium battery

I am in the verge of buying an electric adult scooter ( not the kid stuff.) On the one I have in mind, I am given the choice of battery size.
My would like to understand the following...……..
    RE : Lithium-ion battery
Question : What is the difference between a 4.4AH battery and a 18.8AH battery.
Is it the capacity to hold more charge, hence go farther before battery is depleted ?
It has nothing to do with the max speed which belongs to the motor size, right ?

    Thank you.

I just google your question, and first hit was an ad for one using 4.4/10.8/18.8. In the specs on right side. Does seem to indicate how far you can go. Not a full answer, I'm sure. Just first thing I hit.

Use 350w DC wheel brushless motor, 36V voltage and 4.4AH/10.8AH/18.8AH lithium-ion battery, which is composed by 20/40/70 Samsung 18650 batteries (charging time: 4-10 hours. Sustainable driving distance is about 15/30/50KM)

That is the one I have in mind. Ansheng electric scooter.
My budget says "buy the 4.4AH version."
That motor is 350 watt. That does not change.
I just want to know whether battery size is about how much charge it can hold. Larger the size, farther it can go.
20 km range is fine for me. It is just for inner city use.

P.S. I am in Canada. Amazon.ca has different price list.

    @davidhk
Can you post a link to the scooter ?
I would go with the larger battery available.
The 18.8AH battery will last a lot longer than the 4.4AH and would be worth the extra cost up front.

You have to understand that the given range they state is for smooth even ground with no hills or rough terrain.
Also they use an average weight of a normal size person.

The smaller battery will be quicker to charge but will also run out quicker.

I can give you better answers after looking at the one you want to get.

Same model as f14tomcat posted, except that mine is from Amazon.ca (Canada), his is Amazon.com (US).
    Ansheng S6

18.8AH version will cost me an extra $250.00 CA. Not easy to swallow.

OK then I misunderstood, I you were talking about something like this :

Now that I see exactly what it is , its not worth all the extra money.
