On my Lenovo when the splash screen is up press enter then F12 to select boot device this all has to happen before the BIOS goes to the hard drive to boot I have a W530.You can also set up the BIOS to boot from the USB device first if the BIOS sees a bootable USB drive there.

I will have to be tapping F8 to get my boot list the second I hit power or restart from now on. Turned my BIOS display time to 1 second and full screen logo. Now when I reboot, I see ASUS and then instantly ASUS with the spinning circle and then my lock screen appears. Took a good 10-12 seconds off my boot/reboot time. :)
