    Any bird watchers out there?

First time in a long time all three of my bird houses have birds in them. All are Sparrows as far as I can tell. One has always had Sparrows in it every summer, same nesting pair I think? The other two have been empty. This year they are all active. We get Sparrows, Blue jays, Chickadees, Evening Grosbeaks, American Gold Finches, Harry and Downy Woodpeckers, Starlings, and Red Winged Blackbirds to name a few. Saw our first Mockingbird this year. :) I haven't had my camera handy to get any picks or I'd post them. Only just got my gazebo up and had a chance to get outside to enjoy a nice sunny day. It's been raining for what seems like forever.

I like to watch the birds in my backyard (Colorado) and when I'm out camping in the woods. Around my house are chickadees, blue jays, red winged blackbirds, Red Tailed Hawks, woodpeckers, mourning doves, magpies, black crows, Robin Red Breasts, and some birds with yellow on them. I don't know all the official names for the birds, but I do like to watch birds and other wildlife.

Nice, I'll have to try and get a few pictures myself to post. It's still not nice outside weather here yet. It's only a few degrees above 0c here in the mornings. See your breath weather. Not bad in the afternoons though around 12c. I'll have to start putting my camera in my pocket anyway for my morning walk with my dog. Not a lot of really big birds around my place. The odd Eagle and a few pileated woodpeckers. Oh and Canada Geese.

We get loads of Canadian Geese by me in winter, just a few stragglers left. Made a joke to my husband today at the dog park when we saw 3 flying overhead, I said they were saying we're getting the heck out of here, too hot! :) It was almost 80 degrees F here today, waaaay too early for such heat, we didn't have much of a winter.

I've been hearing the Geese flying overhead. Some Loons too. I saw a couple Geese in a pond but didn't have my camera with me. Snapped this this morning on my walk in the woods with my dog. A male mallard duck I believe.

There are two nesting pairs that we see every summer when walking this trail with our dogs.

Beautiful pictures, thanks for sharing them! What kind of dog do you have? I have a Labradoodle that I walk with daily in the park and the woods when we're out camping. This is a picture of two mallards I took in an area of the park near where I regularly walk my dog.

Lab Rottie mix. She's brindle colored brown with black stripes etc. WE called her Ginger based on her colors. We walk a local trail every morning around 630 AM. Us and a few other dog owner friends. Going when the sun comes up lets us go off leash without worrying about bothering anybody. We are in and out before anybody with little kids shows up. The dogs are all friendly and kid safe. Just big and energetic.

Just took these male Black Capped Chickadee and a male Sparrow. Not the best pictures, rainy dreary day here, and through a window.

I'll havta see if I have any pixs on my desktop, we did have Bluebirds in a green birdhouse, makes me wonder how their eyesight works. We cut the tree down and I have to re-set the house.

There have been others in the yard; Goldfinches, Black caps, downeys, owls, robins, house wrens, cat birds, red cap finches, flickers, cardinals, blue jays, red tail hawks, when the lower yard is wet like now and above ankle deep the mallards take a break from commuting from the creek to the river if it's really deep we've even had blue and white herons, I was so surprised. Now those I might have pixs. There are eagles in the area but no nests yet.

Finally found a bird feeder that took the squirrels a year to figure out, they still can only fish out a seed at a time and the birds are good with it.
