I have a pair of Sparrows in a birdhouse on the back of my house. Right over my deck. I can hear the chicks and occasionally see two heads looking out. Have not been able to get a picture though. Any little noise and the duck back in and go silent. It either camera but no chicks to be seen, or chirp, chirp, chirp and no camera handy.

Probably too late for this season, but there is quite a market building here in the UK for Nest boxes with integrated Cameras

But I'm sure you may be able to add your own setup, to the existing box, for much less outlay
A friend of mine has been posting information online with images for several years about a Pair of Blue tits, nesting in his camera box (unlikely to actually be the same pair as their life span is rarely more than two years) The stories of C-Cup & Double D have amused people for a while

This one bird house has had Sparrows in it every year. My other two bird houses have been mostly empty though. No vacancies this year though. The three bird houses are all different shapes and sizes. Not drastically different but enough to easily see the difference.

Hi everyone,
It's been awhile, been busy but I had something happen that I thought never would and I wanted to share.
I went out earlier and made a walk around to make sure the property was secure for the night when walking to the truck I immediately noticed to my right this:
I'm pretty sure that's one of our local White Tailed Hawks, we have the red variety to. Darn bugger's got me pegged, she's? looking right at me.
I checked the truck and slowly went back to the house to get my wife's B-day present a new Canon PS720HS. I wasn't sure she'd still be there when I got back but sure 'nough there she was:

Still learning the 720, I took 34 pixs but trashed half of them for focus, shaking, being only 20feet away you know I was shaking! Finally figured out she was eating one of the plentiful rabbits around here:
She sure looked bigger in person than what shows in these pictures, I'd say maybe 18 to 20" tall and about 12" wide.

I have a few of my bird feeder to post. Was hoping to get a good shot of a Blue jay getting a peanut but it didn't happen.

Thanks Bill, being in the Raptor family almost reminds me of a Eagle except for the smaller features around the mouth and beak.
Hang in there Kerry you'll get the shot.
I was thinking maybe you could change the position of the peanuts like, one perpendicular to the hand rail like they are now, then the next parallel or at an odd angle and spacing them out a little more, and/or closer to the edge, put a bunch in a pile, crack a few partially open and leave the broken parts of the shell still attached. You know, randomize them.

A quick check around the interweb would suggest that your original images are a Young Cooper's Hawk. I do not have much experience with North American Raptors so have put a call out to some of my Twitter contacts - they're most likely out in the Field as its the weekend but will let you know if anyone has any ideas
