Yeah, there's a few out there.
Read an interesting article a while back. Ever wonder why they keep coming out with old movie sequels that go straight to DVD. Even when they get bad ratings & no one wants another sequel?
Turns out they have to if they want to keep the copyrights to the franchise. After so many years, the copyright runs out. So if they don't keep making movies (Hellraiser, The Bourne Identity, etc), they lose the rights to own them.
Always wondered why they made so many bad stright to DVD sequels from movie franchises from the 90's on up.....there's your reason.
Yeah, me neither. I always wondered if there were actually enough fans of certain franchises that made it profitable to keep making horrible sequels.
The big question is, is it worth hanging on to the franchise by doing that? I suppose there's a possibility some of those may become popular again down the road....although I can't imagine it, but they might.
Like you said, funny old world......
I remember Blockbuster well, served me nicely in my teen years
From what i read, people now just seem to bother about the quality (UHD) and how many sound tracks a movie has, all these are nice, but i would rather have something with good story, even if its b/w and mono
My Wife worked in a couple video stores in the early 80's, that Dracula one she got, even with her employee discount, that was like $39 at the time.
