So was able to get front cover off dryer and could see some rubber on base.

There is a guide roller, not sure if it is powered, but it has a flat spot on it, hence the thump, thump, thumb. Thought about removing more parts and then I remembered, service is coming Wednesday. While I could likely replace roller the real question is why does it have a flat spot.
