If you're wondering, I did some research into bitcoin, just out of curiosity. I was wondering if there's a way to turn it into real cash, & if so, I might consider running a program in the background to mine some while my PC was idle.

Turns out it's not that simple, it involves putting a lot of personal info out there at a bitcoin currency exchange, & to get real cash, you have to have someone buy your coins, also giving them a lot of info & basically hoping that they come through on their side.

Also, mining involves a lot of computing power as well as dedicated resources, so much that you'll probably see an increase in your electric bills. And exchange rates are high, most of the time higher then the transaction itself.

So there you go, I did the research & it doesn't sound like anything I would like to try.

    Afternoon Andre.

Price increases because I really don't charge enough to make this worth while. Some of it I look at as a hobby and it keeps me busy, both good things, however at the end of the day I should be in a positive cash position.

The volunteering is different, that is supposed to be me being a good citizen.
    We weren't having a dig.:)

Hey Keith I didn't think you guys were digging.

I'm getting prepared for client and thought I would do a dry run on you folks. :)

There are a whole bunch of articles out there about how mining is bad for the environment. Most on the premise that the high electricity usage is creating even more green house gases.

Yeah, I was surprised at how much resource you have to commit to it. Most places say the amount of bitcoin you mine for the average person will be a loss to you due to the electric costs.

However, something interesting I saw on the CES lineup. Kodak is apparently willing to rent you a Bitcoin miner for a price & a share of the profits you make. Interesting that a company like that would hop on that bandwagon. Some folks are calling "scam" on them.

Kodak has also created the Kodak KashMiner, a bitcoin mining machine that you rent for $3,400 and share the profits on.

Kodak has been showing off the machine this week at CES 2018 in Las Vegas.

Morning Ken. Hope your finger is feeling better.
    Thanks Borg.

I posted yesterday, test results were clean.

Actually now that I have tape and splint off it is feeling better. Waiting for referral appointment.

Finally did a little research on net. Appears I was supposed to be doing these light exercises after 72 hours. Doing them now.

Well, hope they fix you up soon & you get to feeling better.

Little known fact: In SoCali if you injure your middle finger, you get a handicapped parking hanger for your mirror until you're healed up. Since you use that finger so much during any drive you take in SoCali, you're considered disabled.

Time for me to head out, one of our faucets needs a new aeration screen, it apparently rusted through, so off to the store to get a copper one that might last a bit longer.

You all have a good safe day & take care :)
