Called "The Beer Store" customer service today. They said one of my gift cards was cashed February 1st. The other card has cash. I told them the code lines don't match receipts. They sounded puzzled. The card that was cashed was cashed over an hour and half away. Gift cards and fraud were made for one another.
Now they send to head office and they start investigation over. Looks like I have a 2018 project lined up, LOL.
For those that don't understand Ontario's antiquated beer laws. We buy beer at "The Beer Store" to prevent us from becoming alcoholics. After about forty years of trying to wrestle this away from "The Beer Store" monopoly we are now able to buy in a limited number of grocery stores. You can buy twelves and sixes, no twenty fours. To much beer and you become an alcoholic.
The thing is "The Beer Store" is owned by three of the biggest brewers in the world and they are a major contributor to the political parties. That can't have anything to do with with our laws, no way.
Yup, rationing.
This is just big money protecting their profits. Total BS.
They are still concerned that the groceries might sell to minors. The minors go the beer store where they know everyone is buying beer and ask you to buy them beer. Doing it at the grocery store is hit and miss. Oh and the grocery stores can tell who is a minor for smokes but with beer in their hands they look so much more mature.
Thanks for info Ken
Whats the age for Alcohol/Smoking in Canada
18 for both of them here (though smoking used to be age 16)
