Yeah, we had something similar a few winters ago. It was snow, but just as bad in this case. It snowed before Halloween (2 or 3 days before) & it was heavy, wet snow, about 8 inches. Most of the trees still had leaves on them & there were major blackouts in huge areas for 4 or 5 states. MANY trees down. We were without power for 3 days.
with apologies to OldMike and our European friends who won't get it. I just thought this was funny no matter which team you were for.

Well, they plowed our street, it got above freezing & the ice is starting to fall off the trees & I have to take my Wife to work.

Yes I got rosy checks and my wife helped. Pushed it to the sides and then blew it. Cannot image not having a blower. I originally got it as we lived in a neighbourhood of older widows. The guy across the street and I would do their walkways and driveways as a team. Then he went and moved and there was no way I could do it by hand. They would pay me booze, banana bread, baking and the occasional cash offering. Never looked back.
Plow is on the street again which makes sense as I just shoveled.

They have spies Ken. They watch and when everyone on the street is finished shoveling, they call the plow to come do the street so you won't get bored and lazy.Oh come Mike that was funny.
