Plus Intel is not saying much about there screw up either, seems to have been going on for years and years. This should have been fixed a long time ago.

Well, time for me to head out & pay the water bill. Maybe get some more pipe insulation if there's any left.

You all have a good safe day, take care & stay warm :)

I am definitely in no hurry to apply the fix they offer for the first run. Too many reports of errors. they are in "panic mode" trying to patch this & probably cutting a few corners to get it out there ASAP.

Here's yet another instance of screwed up patching.......

Meltdown-Spectre: More businesses warned off patching over stability issues | ZDNet

As for it being fixed a long time ago, I would wager it's an exploit that was used by certain agencies until it "accidentally" got explosed.

I've applied both fixes, one from MS and from my motherboard bios ....no issues except for the bios update changed all my settings back to default .....had to tweak everything all over again.

Thanks for the heads up on the scam, Borg. Knew it wouldn't take them long.

    Have good day.

Thanks for the Insider tweet, Ken. :)

Didn't Josey say he had to go to doctor, his wife was going to drive him. Then he was going to look into battery.

That unit I posted yesterday Mike was definitely not a full scale charger or booster, just something you plug in when you really don't use a car a lot. I had a car I stored and I would remove battery. Had battery hooked up to a "Maintainer" that was on a timer. Come the next season it would fire right away.

Do something similar for my snow blower battery but use a small solar panel.
