Interesting you should mention that. I also have the full pan tilt in my cart ready to order. I needed my other stuff from Adafruit a bit more though and can't afford both. Plus I'm still mulling over if I really want it need it. I'll want to set it up to work in Motion Eye. Somebody on the Pimoroni forum was trying it but appears to have given up. I think its doable, just not how they wanted it to work.

The build side of it I usually get done in good time, if I have all the parts I need. The software side not so much. The actual coding in python part is where things usually slow down for me. Especially if I have to do some fancy stuff with reading keyboard key codes etc.
There is some nice satisfaction in finishing a project. Especially if it then sees regular use. My weather clocks get used daily, the indoor one runs 24/7. My wife checks it all the time. And my Pirate Radio sees almost daily use. I really like my classic rock. I'll take that out on my deck from time to time in the summer. Several of my web cams get good use too. I have one watching my front walk, front lawn. I'm watching Ginger have a nice snooze in the sun right now. If she starts barking I can just look at my monitor to see if I need to get up or not. If its a delivery guy or just somebody walking a dog up the street.
Some of my builds come in handy but sit there waiting to be used, like my breadboard rig. It gets dusted off a couple of times a year for a new project. I have to admit that its not used near as much as I thought it would when I built it. There is no easy way to attach a Hat or pHat to it. Mainly just breakout boards. For Hats and pHats I use my Black Hat Hack3r. I did up a Pi Zero with a 90 female header to plug right into it, no ribbon cable. Using the 90 header points all the ports straight up for easy access. I have my Unicorn Hat HD on it now. Thats one project I should get working on.
I owed a little bit this year but Carolyn got a big chunk of cash back. Some of my income switched from disability to actual pension income. That made the pension amount transferable. I increased my deductions about half way though the year so next year I should just about break even or maybe get a little back. So far I haven't touched any of our return money for Pi stuff. It's going to be used for house repairs etc.

I believe they are 50 to one? I'll go check my orders and verify What they are.

EDIT: They are 50:1 acording to my order history. I remeber asking Phil what was used in the rover you linked too and he siad he thought they were 50:1 so thats what I ordered.

Hey Jack, if you haven't placed that order yet you may want to add two of these, https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/m...otor-enclosure I think I gave you two already? If not you may want to order 4 of them. They will make mounting the motors to something a lot easier. They will keep dirt and lint out of the gears too.

I hope you have better luck than I did. I have yet to get a 4 wheel rover to work correctly. Numerous tries. Those two motors I sold to you were left overs from my last attempt. I converted it to a tracked rover. Still haven't gotten that to work 100% how I want it to work. Its one of my unfinished projects. I had to steal the powerboost from it for the one that failed in my portable weather clock. It's all detailed in this thread if you want go back far enough.
