My Raspberry Pi Crickit Hat is on the way, or will be very shortly. Just got the order confirmed e-mail. I needed a LIPO and there were a few other things I wanted that I can't get at Pimoroni. Pimoroni can't ship LIPO batteries by AIR to North America so they just won't ship them here.
Just got the order has shipped e mail. Its been off and on for me lately. Do a bit then take a few days off. The weather has a lot to do with it. It's hard to get motivated when its wet and gloomy and I'm sore and achy. I expect to get back into things once I get my gazebo back up and I can spend some time out in the fresh air. The crickit hat should be able to do most of what I wanted to do with the Google AIY kit. Minus the voice commands bit and the excess Google account baggage. I may have another go at the AIY too. I swapped in one of my now spare 3B's. I'll use a 3A+ or 3B+ with the crickit hat. I was asked to walk my friends dog for her while she's away again so I used that bit of extra cash to make this purchase.
My Adafruit order should be here by the end of the week. I had to take the more expensive shipping option, likely because of the LIPO battery. They were saying expected delivery Thursday the 18th. I will be tinkering with some of it over the weekend if it does arrive by Friday. I prepaid the duties on it, its just easier as they are going to ask for it anyway when I sign for it.
I bought some Arduino stuff too. Another one of those 9V power supplies and a stand for a mini solderless breadboard. You mount the Arduino beside the breadboard with nuts and bolts. I have a spare Uno just for that now.
Grabbed a couple of 16 gig Sandisk cards on sale at the Source today. Almost half price 15 bucks each. I bought 2. Had to go to the Mayflower Mall anyway so I went in just in case they were on sale.
interesting stuff. do you know when the Source closing , just got my Income tax refund in the mail ......i need most or more even for some Home repairs and septic tank clean out ...would like to buy 1 Pi related item that suites me, and my knowledge level ,,any ideas ?? I was thinking maybe one of these[or something like it ] for Grandson and Me to play with, i could see him loading building blocks into his truck ..he's only 3 but very smart ..got his own Leapfrog tablet and can use it for picking colors and numbers and such .. https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/m...spberry-pi-kit
The Source in the little strip mall in town here is already gone. Sign and all. I was going to look in there for a deal on SD cards the other day. So its all of them that are going. I fgured it was just that store that went under.
I was looking at that, should be good for cowardination etc. Colors etc too. Some assembly required and "maybe" some coding. I didn't get as far as looking at the software side of it. Might be all done for you as its Kitronics.
You'll also need a Raspberry Pi and power supply.
i'll have a closer look at the Arm , the north sydney Source closed n January ...This MeArm link has lots of info http://learn.mearm.com/docs/getting-...-the-mearm-pi/
One advatage to a kit like that is, its all there. Except for your Raspberry Pi and power supply. No needing to make something else or modify something with a drill or dremel etc. And you just follow the instrutions. Like building Ikea furniture, sort of kind of.
They show a Pi Zero in the picture. It looks like 4 servos are used in total. And they use two to move the arm back and forth. That means at least two running at the same time at times.I think I'd go with the official Pi power supply, its 5.1V and 2.5A.
