I got the distinct impression on the Pi Forum they were farther along than that? Granted, they don't say very much there, and guard their words very carefully.
Any thread asking or proposing what the next Pi might be like seems to be quickly locked.
I'd be happy if we just got "full speed" Gigabyte Ethernet, and "full speed" dual channel ethernet.
The only given is its going to be an all new SOC. They have gone as far as they can go with the current SOC.

There isn't much that can be done to a Zero? What can you add without making it bigger?
A normal full sized HDMI and one full sized USB, like what's on the A+ and 3A+ would be nice. Not sure there is room though?
Or a version with a DSI instead of the CSI?

Was messing around with that dead Pi 3B+ today, trying to get the CSI DSI locking bars off without breaking them. The DSI shell pulled right off of the board? I have the white base part with the locking bar still attached in my hand. All the pins are still on the board though. I put two needles in under each end of the locking bar and pulled up. Tried the same thing on the CSI and brock the locking bar. The little tabs brock off each end. I have a feeling I'm going to end up breaking the other one trying to get it off the white shell?
Also pulled the heatsinks off, and found my double sided sticky thermal pad stuff. You can have those heatsinks back Jack if you want, with new thermal pads on them. They are soaking alcohol at the moment to clean the old pads off.

I kind of figured that, felt I should ask anyway.
I have a couple new unused in my parts bin. Tall and the short ones. The low short ones are good for the Zero W's. Cover will fit on the official case with the short ones. They say they aren't needed but for the price of 1 buck I add one. I think it looks better too.

fugged up my sdcard with the Adafruit capacitive hat installed on it ,,had a brain fart, and formatted wrong sdcard,, after formatting and reinstalling raspbian ,I wasn't happy to find this message (no longer supported )when i went to setup the sdcard again .
Overview | MPR121 Capacitive Touch Sensor on Raspberry Pi BeagleBone Black | Adafruit Learning System

Adafruit change the programming to CircuitPython , not using Rpi-gpio anymore ,using something they are creating themselves , for Ardunio type boards.I tried following there instructions ,didnt get there code that i was using to work ,but got some other code that i had got from Instructables .com
Raspberry Pi Music Fingers: 14 Steps (with Pictures)
something missing at bootup that they are using now
this - "import board" for some reason all i do to install the new stuff never imports board

They link here for a possible solution, I2C combined mode / repeated start after latest updates - Raspberry Pi Forums
Thats one thing that kind of bugs me about Adafruit, its usually Arduino first, Raspberry Pi "if" we get around to it.
You can get the older versions of Raspbian here, Index of /raspbian/images

Yeah they have thier own Circuit Python. Pluses and minuses. Plus is it works on lots of microcontrollers like the BBC Micro-Bit. Down side is its enough different from regular Python that it will likely trip you up when writing your code.

I tried following that and it didn't help, its actually in the instructing for install the circuit python ,but it was likely something i didn't do right,I think i need to follow the instructions again ,its a bit tricky ,do this now do this and then do this and then i click a ling and get lost lol , if i could just find the correct pip command to install Board.
using the older raspbian helps for one part ,but i still have to install circuit python ,as they got rid of all the how to's of installing the sensor board, so i think i will still have the issue of the need of missing Board in the code ..
.seems the Board come with the install of adafruit Blinka ,but i did do the Pip to install it and it seemed to work ,but still no Board ,to call up when i run the code , i need to take a few days away from trying ,,and try again

Ok, I didn't really look to far in that link. My bad. I do that sometimes. Stick it out of the way for a bit then try again with a clear head.
