My Pimoroni order just arrived. I'll pull the few things I need now out and put it away with my other Arduino stuff to go under the Christmas tree. New 3A+ in there along with a Pibow coup Ninja case for it. I may put that together and boot it up to make sur it works etc. I don't have a dedicated project in mind for it yet so it can go under the tree too.

Booted up the 3A+ with the latest Raspbian. Setup went nice and quick. The quick setup thingy now works OK. The Pibow Coup Ninja isn't a bad looking case. Cooling air slots ect in it too. Precut heatsink hole too. I always mess that up a bit when cutting my own. Just enough rough edges to know it didn't come that way, lol.
Time to take a break. Been dealing with a cold the last week or so, so enthusiasm is a bit low, even for me.

Yeah, I saw those and did a hmmm. Thats something that would be good for prototyping something new. You just keep changing (reprograming) it until you get what you want and it works. Then have that final circuit mas produced. Something like that.
Logic in, Logic out, something that will never ever work in the Windows world lol.
To be honest I have a vague idea of what it is and does. Its something along the lines of the chip in your Microwave that decodes what buttons you pressed and in what order. Or what's in your smart TV etc. I'm thinking its a smaller scaled down version though. Only you decide what it does not Sony etc.

My Motion Eye issue I'm having on my Pi 3B+ isn't a camera issue. Unless its the CSI jack on the Pi or something? I just put my new V2 camera with new ribbon cable on it and it glitched again. I loos the camera signal and get a camera logo with the circle / bar through it. Like a do not enter sign.
I think I'm going to repurpose that 3B+ as a second test setup for hats and pHats. And see how that goes. I can't easily connect hats to my bread board rig so I do need a second text rig. If it's only an issue with the CSI jack it should be fine. I've had that 3B+ way to long to ever return it. Seetting it up as a test rig will or should let me know if it has other issues? If it does i'll just bin it and move on.
I think I found what I'm going to do with the 3A+. I'll cut down one of my Ninja difussers and make it another motion eye setup. Like i did with the 3B, I'll mount the camera on the backside of the difusser. Then use the long bolts to bolt that to the 3A+ Pibow coupe case.

New Motion Eye images dated 20181209. Used the Pi 3 one on my 3A+ and it worked. It's now all setup with the new camera. Wait and see time to see if it has any issues. I'll take some pictures of it eventually. It's basically the same as the other PIBOW 3B+ setup, just smaller. A+ sized. Used a really short 5cm camera cable. Perfect fit actually, just long enough to bolt everything together without breaking anything.

They are good for headless setups where a Pi Zero just isn't up to the task. Motion Eye struggles a bit steaming Video on a Zero W. The 3A+ is quad core like the 3B+
And its good if you want to save some space. Thats why I used the A+ in my weather clock. The Zero hadn't ben released yet and I didn't need a bulky B+ with the Ethernet and USB ports I'd never use.

I have an almost all one color Pibow Zero W case now. Red, orange, red instead of the purple, blue red or what ever it is. I had a left over original Zero Pibow, the first one, and swapped the payers around to get it almost all one color. Only really needed that cross word looking layer and as luck would have it that was Red. I'll post a pic eventually. Put in a rough night with a runny nose and couching from my cold. Kinda beat now and going to go lay down for a bit.

Actually, I guess the other case was this one, https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/pibow-zero-ver-1-3
And the new one was this one. https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/pibow-zero-w
I took the yellow out of the first one and swapped it for the red in the second one. All the layers still have the correct numbers, and a Zero W fits in it.
