Ah, OK, I wasn't sure which way you meant it? I'm guessing some if not all the important bits are military spec / very high accuracy. Including the GPS receiver. Like you say though pricey.

Yeah, me neither. I'm hoping some of the stuff I have in my shopping cart goes on sale. In any case I'll be most likely waiting till the week end to place my order.

Adafruit CRICKIT HAT for Raspberry Pi ID: 3957 - $34.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique fun DIY electronics and kits
Shows out of stock though? I'll be buying one at some point, won't be for a while though. I have other stuff I want / need more and only so much cash to spend.

I have to admit to having a few unfinished projects kicking around here. Mostly coding needing to be tackled and done. I can't seem to find my round 2it.

I just redid my Breadboard rig with the latest Raspbian. The basic one without all the extra fluff added. Just have to verify my RTC is working, I did all the edits etc. Just have to check that its actually working. Have to disconnect from my network then power down for 10 minutes or so. Then boot up with no Internet and check that it has the correct time.

I don't know what the trick is to this, but it never seems to work first time around. I have to manually write to , then read from the DS3231 at least twice before Raspbain gets the correct time on boot up from the RTC? Had to do it 3 or 4 times this time around? Double checked all my edits etc no typo's? Was thinkning the new Raspbian broke something in the setup but its working fine now after one last test?

Usually the first time you use one, the time it has stored in it is way off. So you let your pi sync with a time server online to get it the correct time. Then you write (store) that time in the RTC via command line. Then you read it back to make sure it updated. Your only supposed to have to do that once. It's the last step in the setup. I end up doing it several times before everything syncs up and works as its supposed to.

All the sales from the last few days are back on at Pimoroni. And some new stuff added. The price shown for what's in my shopping cart went down. Ill likely order before the day is out. Then hope I get it for Christmas lol.
