Yeah, I ran into a similar issue with one of the breakout boards I bought there. I ended up hunting up a python library somebody else did on their own.
A fair bit of their stuff will say "Arduino code available, can be easily ported for the Raspberry Pi". If its so easy do it already. I don't have those skills and likely never will.
It's costing them money. I'm buying most of my Pi stuff at Pimoroni now instead of at Adafruit.
Pimoroni is Pi first, Micro Bit etc second. So most of their stuff advertised for the Pi works out of the box (most times ). And their custom installers make things easier.
Adafruit seem to sell the Pi as a secondary side line to their own in house microcontrollers. And hide the other stuff they don't make away. The Micro-Bit for example is hidden away on their site. You have to go hunting for it. Their forum is a real mess too IMHO. They do have some stuff I can't easily get anywhere else though so I will still buy some things there. Just not as much as I used too now that I've found Pimoroni.

Typo's are what get me. And they are so easy to make. Really feels good when you get something working the way "you" want though.

Looks pretty cool jack. I went hunting for it when you first posted it but couldn't find it. Seeing the picture, I'm going to go have another look see.

I got a reply to my inquiry about the Crickit hat for Raspberry Pi. If it's not in their blog or listed on any product page it does not officially exist. And they won't comment on any future product releases. Short answer is no comment.

Getting no where with what I had planned to do with my Unicorn Hat HD. Might have bitten off more than I can chew on this one. It uses pillow to do all the fany stuff, and I'm totaly lost as to what it happening in the example file. Too much going on for me to sort out to be honest. I may end up finding another use for it. I've put it aside for now.
