OK, I'll have to make note of that and write it down.

My understanding is the 3B+ is clocked higher than the 3B. And the new heat spreader is supposed to offer better cooling. My only other 3B+ is in my bread board rig and has only seen minimal use. It's in a really open well ventilated Pibow case like the Pibow Coupe, but with more cooling slots. They don't sell that particular case anymore. I can't even remember what it was called? Thats an older picture with a 3B in it. I didn't bother to take a new one when I swapped them. Only visual difference is the locking bars on the DSI and CSI are black not white. I had to cut one layer of the pibow for the 3B+, the one under the top one. SOC / CPU was in the same location so the heatsink hole I had already cut fit perfectly.

    EDIT:
    Pibow Midnight - Limited-Edition!

    Attachment 209201
My 3B Libreelec is running with a USB fan. Necessary or not, it really doesn't hurt anything.

I like the peace and quiet of a fanless setup. I'll add one if need be though. It's hot to the touch now after running all day. Still not hot enough that I have to take my finger off though. I'll let it run all night and see what the morning brings. It's still streaming video as of right now.

Just happened apon this on Pimoroni, Introducing the Raspberry Pi TV HAT - Raspberry Pi I saw the Pi Foundation Logo so I went hunting on their blog. I might be Interested if it could be hacked to be a Software Defined Radio. I have a USB TV receiver that can be used (with the right software) to receive other signals out side the TV band. Police, fire etc. Even HF like HAM radio.

EDIT: I don't think it will be of much use to those of us on this side of the big pond. DVB-T - Wikipedia

Interesting for sure ,,if it would do the radio bit it would be good, no good for broadcast digital tv around here as we dont have any ,they stopped sending the signal a few years back, we might still get CBI if you have a good tall antenna i think,im actually not sure if what it recieves is the same as waht we had here .)

I'm pretty sure it won't work here, DVB-T is Europe only. I don't think it will receive FM radio etc either.

Well that 3B+ is still going running Motion Eye. CPU is hot now though. I can touch it with my finger but it gets uncomfortably hot after a couple of seconds. I'll let it run all night anyway and check it in the morning.

I ran my other 3B+, the one in my bread board rig for 5 or 6 hours the other day and the heatsink was very warm. I was updating / upgrading it to the new Raspbian release. Then opened a browser to one of my Motion Eye feeds. Let it run for several hours. It kind of looks like the other 3B+ is running hot and overheating, for whatever reason?

Looks like one of my cameras has issues? Getting all kinds of vertical streaks in low light conditions. One of my version 1 cameras. It's the first one I bought way back when they were first released. Must have got knocked around one to many times or something. It was mounted on my bread board rig on top of the monitor. I'll eventually swap it out for a V2. It still works OK in good light, just gets a bit weird in dim light, like now when all thats on in that room is one table lamp. The other two are fine, even in dark conditions. I may just reseat the cable, and that plug thats on the camera module itself. Can't hurt anything, I'm going to bin it eventually anyway.
