    Yes. And if you want it all automatic you'll have to do a crontab edit etc so it will run on bootup.
    run sudo crontab -e
    add
    @reboot python3 /home/pi/mypythonfile.py &

    I am actually thinking of running it on boot up instead of button. Will try both tonight. Thank you.

    I run my headless weather clock pyfiles on boot. It's all those Pi's ever do. If I have to tinker with my file I just do a crontab edit and add a # to the @ reboot file. That makes it a remark thats ignored. Then when I'm done messing around I go back and remove the #.
    If you do what I posted above, the python file runs on boot and looks for a button press. Nothing actually happens though until you press the button. To actualy detect the button press, via GPIO in python, a script has to be running.

    On my indoor weather clock it runs my weather python file on boot. In that file is code to look for a ceneter joystick press, a button press if you will. A center press does a Raspbian shutdown. I just leave it plugged in and powered up. When I want to turn it back on, I momentarily short the RUN terminals. It boots up and runs my file.

    Just a FYI, the new Pimoroni PIBOW 3B+ case fits a 3B (not a +) no problem. Heatsink hole lines up perfectly with the CPU too. And the cutout for the POE pins lines up perfectly with the RUN pins. I just soldered a 2 pin RUN header on my 3B and didn't have to modify the PIBOW case in any way. I think this is the first one I haven't had to cut with my dremel? It already has the square cutout for the CPU heatsink. Some vent holes in the bottom cover too.
    This is the one I have, https://shop.pimoroni.com/products/p...=2601078325258

    i have a similar case, kind of ,mine is a full pi-bow rainbow ,both my pi 3b+'s run warm to hot , to the touch even on the metal of the usb/ethernet ports ,temp shows it go from 38Deg to 51.6 + deg's ,quickly ,,,sitting idle even ,with heat sinks ..and no cover on the case ,,,is that a normal temp for the B+

    I don't know to be honest Jack. I've never bothered to measure mine on any of my Pi's. Other than just to touch the heatsink every now and then. Haven't burt my finger yet if thats any indication?

    Heat Sink's are an iffy topic, on the Pi forum anyway. Some are adiment that they aren't needed on any Pi. Some say on a Pi3 yes, on a Zero its a wasit of time? I say why not add one. They are cheap enough and IMHO they impove the looks even if they aren't doing much. I kind of agree that they likely aren't needed on a Zero. On a 2B or 3B IMHO it will help stop downclocking when things get hot and help performance.

    just read this ,if it true i have nothing to worry about .
    If your temperature rises above 80 deg C, you will see a little thermometer on you Raspbian desktop. That indicates that your Pi is getting hot

    Was going to post this when you asked but got side tracked and forgot, Firmware warning icons - Raspberry Pi Documentation
    Yeah, throttling doesn't happen until 80c so I'd say your OK.
