Finally cooled off a "little" bit, outside anyway. I'm back out on my deck with a fan blowing cool air on me. 27c with 67% humidity according to my weather clock. That's the only Pi I have out with me though.

I'm wondering if Adafruit or Pimoroni actually sell any of those Enamel Pins? New Products : Adafruit Industries, Unique fun DIY electronics and kits Adafruit has a bunch listed as new items. How much of a nerd would you have to be to actually wear one, lol? I have a couple, gifts from Pimoroni for helping out on their forums. I don't see ever wearing one out in public though?

Taking a different approach with the AIY board. Going to try and get stuff working with stock Raspbian install. I have the sound working, sort of kind of? I get sound out of the speakers but the speaker icon in the tray has a red X on it and I can't adjust the volume. Speaker test works anyway. AIY voice card as i2s - Raspberry Pi Forums

My plan is to figure out what chip does what. Then look on Adafruit or Pimoroni for a breakout board for that chip. Then try that installer. Like for the servo controller and motor controller. I'm going give it a try anyway. My other option is to go back to Google AIY install and see if I can make use of those chips via python etc. The AIY should have all the drivers and configs all done. It will also have some excess baggage too I would think. Juts tinkering with it really at this stage. Killing time until my rover parts arrive.

Been wanting to play with a PIR motion sensor, and or an ultrasonic range finder. Collision avoidance or obstacle avoidance for my rover etc.
My Pimoroni order should be arriving any day now. That will give me something to do for a few days.

Light as in color detection or light level, how bright it is? I have a Si1145 sensor on my portable weather clock. I use it to get the UV index and read the ambient light level. I use the ambient light level to auto dim the LED matrix etc. In the dark it goes into low light mode which dims the display. Its easier on the eyes and makes it unobtrusive. In sunlight it goes back to full bright to make it easier to read.

Ah, photo resistor, basic how bright is light. I "think" its a high resistance with no light and the resistance drops as the light intensity increases. I should have a couple of those kicking around. There is usually one of those in those kits with LEDs resisters, capacitors, and switches etc. Don't take this the wrong way but its one of those things not easily damaged so its great for kits for tinkering learning. No polarity either so you can plug it in either way etc and they are inexpensive.
