mine starts up to last station played i think, ,,and after a few beeps and click it starts playing ..but i would have to go boot it up a few time to say for sure ..;;;;;;;;;
EDIT ,I just tried it a few time ,it booted to the same station a few time but then it didn't ,so i don't know ..

I had a brain fart the other day , looking at a micro sd card reader that came with some sd cards i bought awhile back ,at wal-mart i think ,,, maybe that will work as a power plug ,and it did ,I first used it with the Power boost 1000 to power the pizer running the piano and drum hats ..makes for a nice clean connection ,no long usb cable ..shown in picture with Pi zero pHAT dac plugged into my laptop

I think it depends on whether it gets WIFI right away or not. If its slow connecting and doesn't get a good signal VLC switches to the next station in your play list, and then the next. If it doesn't get a channel it doesn't stream automatically. Something like that. Sometimes mine would play on its own, sometimes I had to press an extra button to nudge it.

So that's a card reader with Micro USB on one side and full size USB on the other? They'd be wired in parallel so it should just work as an adapter. And plugged into the Zero's power only port, it won't see the reader part. Which is good because your PC will. You can't have to USB master's on the USB BUSS at the same time.

got the 5" lcd case from China via amazon,, not a bad case for the price ,but had to do some dremel work to get it to fit ,the 4 corner holes were a little off, and on the back i had to cut out a bit to fit around the hdmi plug ...ut it to the side now till i figure what im going to do with it ,think i might try to put it into the old 7 inch tv i was going to use 2 yrs ago ,, lol never to late ..

I was just messing with my Google AIY. I'm trying to build a metal frame for it out of what bits I have left of that black anodized extruded aluminum beam. I remembered I had some left over and had a go. Not really working out the way I had envisioned though. I'm going to end up having to cut and trim some of the beams. I tried a few different layouts but always end up with a piece too long or two short. I think I have enough corner brackets to coble up something but I don't think I have enough nuts and bolts. =( I may abandon it for now? For tonight anyway.

I'm going to Halifax tomorrow for the weekend ,tomorrow is our 33 anniversary,and my 65 B-day..so it will be a good weekend ,and i only seen my 3 week old gran-daughter for a few hrs last time i was there ,my wife has been there for almost 2 months now and will be staying till the end of may ..
