Paired OK to my Pirate Radio install. Worked in mouse mode but didn't do anything in Music mode. The sound paused if I held the button down, but it didn't adjust anything as far as I could tell. Bummer, but kind of what I was expecting. I'm pretty sure I had tried the media keys on my keyboard in the past and they didn't do anything. If I get it working on my rover, it shouldn't be too hard to modify my code for the pirate radio. I still have the remote control code which has most of the info I need for the VLC Radio commands. Another summer project, if summer ever gets here. lol.

Would or wouldn't? I'm thinking you meant wouldn't. VLC radio or the full Pirate radio installer? I ran the one line installer for Pirate Radio which installs the pHat Beat stuff and the VLC radio and it worked OK.

Jack do update , upgrade, and a second update. I had a similar issue with xscreensaver. I did the sudo apt-get update upgrade and got a weird error when trying to install xscreensaver. Somebody on the Pi forum suggested doing another update. I ran it and it updated 3 packages. The second upgrade did nothing but xscrensaver then installed Ok? I've never had to do the update upgrade twice in succession like that before?

I'm not sure what's going on? In the past doing one of each after doing a fresh image was enough to get current.

If it still doesn't work post the code you used to do the install, and the error your getting.

it works before you do any update upgrade ,but when you update /upgrade,you then have to do the second update before they will install

Cool, will be redoing my portable weather clock install today. Going to go back to Jessie and see how it goes. Still not exactly sure what's going on. In the house it shows 22c and about 50 or 60 % humidity. Take it to the dog park and I can watch the % humidity steadily drop over about 20 minutes to 0 or lower. If I take the front cover off of the case it goes back up again. Best guess is heat from the electronics in the case is drying the air in the case?
I added a bunch more vent holes though? All across the bottom of the clear front cover and down one side of the main section of the case. Didn't seem to help though. It's tricky keeping the rain and snow out but letting fresh air in. A small 5v fan may be the answer, if I was going to keep using the sensor on the sense hat. My current BMP180 only does temp and pressure. =( That's why I want to get the BME680, it does it all, including air quality. I found an image I saved a while back that I may just flash to the card. Then just copy over my latest python file. It will save me some time if it works.
Something else I might try is sticking the whole thing in the trunk of the car early in the day so everything gets cooled down to ambient temp. Going from +22c to close to 0c may be what's messing things up? The temp sensor takes a while to adjust as the board its mounted to has to cool off. Takes about 15 minutes before it cools down to ambient and gets accurate. In the summer its not an issue. We don't have air conditioning so inside temp is the same as outside, lol.
