Pimoroni order just arrived. Just about 2 weeks delivery. Didn't have to pay GST either, which is weird because I had to sign for it and it has a customs declaration sticker on it with the value in GBP. Not complaining, fine by me. And as an added bonus was there were 2 Pi Zero W's in the box. I have no idea if that was accidentally on purpose or not? Time to get my soldering iron out.

Good news and bad news. Soldered up my new Explorer pHat and Pi Zero W and did a quick test using a 2.5A power supply and my rover turned Ok on a smooth surface. Stalled out on a carpet though. Put the power boost and battery back in and its back to not turning again. Just a tiny jerk moment and the motors stall out. Unplugged the power boost and plugged the power supply back in, same deal, stalls out. Removed the battery and it turns Ok. One step forward two steps back. Looks like I'll have to get a smaller lighter battery? The one I have is a brut, 6600 MAH.

This has definitely been my most frustrating projects so far. almost all the way through. I will persevere though. I'll build two, two wheel rovers if I have to, lol.

The big gains from a 3B to 3B+ to me seem to be the networking. Wireless is now dual band and a lot faster throughput. Ethernet is faster too. Still not up to full speed, compared to a PC, but a lot better. They switched to the cavity antenna like the Zero W too. Which is better than the little chip antenna on the "now" old 3B. The POA stuff means nothing to me, not something I'll ever use. I see it mentioned quit often on the Pi forum though, so some wanted it.

New Raspbian stretch images are up to support this, https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/raspbian/ I'm downloading them, I'm not redoing any of my cards with them just yet though. Need to look at the cahng log to see if anything else was added on top of 3B+ support.
