Well i got the Adafuit captive touch hat to work, installed it in putty ,but could only get it to register the touch through Putty, when i went to the example folder {the same file used in putty }on the Pi itself it didn't work ,error no such /or doesn't exist MPR121 directory or something like that ..
Adafruit sure isn't as helpful as Pimoroni when it come to examples ,there is no connected sounds in any of there examples that i can see anyway.,not for the novice like me ,,put in a box till the smarts kick in ,in the second half of my life maybe .lol
That's one of my biggest complaints / letdowns with Adafruit. Especially where the Raspberry Pi is concerned. They are lopsided towards Arduino and other Microcontrollers. I get why, that's likely where they started out and sell the most of. They likely make most of them (micro controllers) them selves. A lot of their break out boards have code for Arduino but nothing on the Pi side of things. They just say stuff like, "easily ported to a raspberry Pi". If its so dame easy why not do it for the less tech savvy. Rant over lol. They have some really cool stuff, just wish installing the software and getting it to work was easier.
What I like about Pimoroni is , if they don't immediately know the answer, they flat out tell you. And when they say "we are working on it", they really are working on a it. Some times it takes a little while but they come through in the end.
Really hoping my Pimoroni order arrives today so I have something to play with over the weekend. It shipped on the 26th so this will be 11 days or so. It's taken this long before, its the downside of selecting the cheapest shipping option. And tracking seems to stop once it leaves the UK. Its showing as on its way to Montreal. It will stay like that until I actually sign for it. Then show as delivered. I had one order they were a mouse click from reshipping and it showed up at my front door. I think that was the first time I used their new Royal Mail signed and tracked. It was 12 days or something, and showed the on its way to Montreal. It appeared like it had got lost on the way lol.
This looks like a cool challenge for me ... lol it actually works ,likely wont for me ..

I'll likely be playing with that at some point, might be a while though. I have other things I want to finish up first.
Pimoroni order just arrived. Just about 2 weeks delivery. Didn't have to pay GST either, which is weird because I had to sign for it and it has a customs declaration sticker on it with the value in GBP. Not complaining, fine by me. And as an added bonus was there were 2 Pi Zero W's in the box. I have no idea if that was accidentally on purpose or not? Time to get my soldering iron out.
