It may also depend on what model Pi you plug it into. The Zero has no analog out, just the HDMI digital. I don't think there is any benefit to using it on a Pi that already has analog out, except if you need to use the MIC in. Sound quality might be better, odds of me being able to hear the difference are likely slim though, lol.

It's for the Pi Zero W.
Although the Zero does not have any audio port, it still shows "Analog" on audio options. Maybe because you can use GPIO?

Ok, I would have thought it would default to HDMI? That option may be there because Raspbian doesn't bother to remove it for the Zero? Your guess is as good as mine?
You can add analog audio so maybe that's why its there? https://learn.adafruit.com/introduci.../audio-outputs

A Hacker has got Windows 10 partly working on a PI 3 - not IOT version.

Hacker gets Windows 10 up and running on a Raspberry Pi 3 (sort of) - Liliputing

There was somebody on the Raspberry Pi forums claiming to have ported Windows mobile to the Pi. I never saw any real proof of that claim though. Any time I asked for a link he clamed up and stopped responding. That may be because Windows Mobile isn't open source? This new Windows on Arm is coded for the wrong Arm chip, if your a Pi owner anyway. It's geared for the newer Snapdragon processors. And its doubtful the Pi foundation will move to those chips. From what I'm reading on the Pi forum anyway. I've been asking for a real version of Windows for the Pi on the Microsoft Yammer group etc but it pretty well falls on deaf ears. They are all into the IoT.

I'm running the desktop version of Raspbian on my spare desktop PC. It's not bad speed wise. Haven't done a whole lot with it to be honest though. A little web browsing etc. It's handy for working with the SD cards out of your Pi, it can see both partitions. I'd imagine the Pi 4 is in the works, Pi Foundation are mum about it as usual though. I was hoping the 3A would have been released by now.
