The Raspberry Pi Thread [4]

Mine seem to vary quit a bit. One day I'm getting 20 something fps then another day its less than 10? Likely my WIFI and whats in use at the same time. I have a wireless router thats not in use that I may setup just for my rspbery Pi's.

So far so good, no hits of any streaks on the camera that "had" that issue. Need to wait another hour of more to be 100% certain though.

Hey Jack I think that fixed my camera issue. Just when I should have been watching I got side tracked. It's dark now but the image looks OK. No signs of streaking or wierdness. I would normally see all kinds of grey virtical streaks by now. Looks like it was the lens / light sensor part of mine that glitched.
I own you a favor for fixing me up with your camera parts. I'll double check it in the morning but I think I'm good now.

The dog got me up early so I'm just sitting here waiting for the sun to rise, lol. Usually that camera would be all full of grey streaks down both sides righ about now. Nice and clean looking at the moment. Only the one street light lit so really had to see anything. I'll know for sure its fixed in about half an hour or so. It's 6:30 and the sun will rise around 7 ish. This camera is the only one curently looking outside. And the only one to get any bright sunlight.

And I'm just getting ready to order some stuff. I was going to have to order that separately from the manufacturer and pay another shipping fee to get it. I already have the Zumo chassis, Arduino shield, and the Arduino UNO. Went to the Zumo site for install instructions and noticed I didn't have that part, then wanted it, lol. For once I wasn't in a hurry to order my stuff, and things happened in my favour. =)

Just got the order received e-mail, so one of those should be taged as mine. It should ship in the morning. That will let my ZUMO rover do line following. I'll put some of that blue painters tape down for testing. Its low tack and easy to remove after wards. Thats after I do all the programing. Its C+ on the Arduino. I'll just do what I did when I got my first Raspberry Pi and copy any example code I can find to start things off. I also ordered one of those VL53L1X Time of Flight (ToF) Sensor Breakouts.
