I've been using this freebe on my Windows PC to view my motion eye cameras, Open Broadcaster Software | Home Its a stand alone, no install required, you just run the executable from the download.
You just setup a source as a web site, and enter the url / ip address, http://192.168.0.xxx. I can view all three of my cameras picture in picture like and record from all three with one mouse click. The recording is then viewable in either the Pictures App or Media Player. You can resize the window for each camera etc. And add or remove one with a simple mouse click. My Pi 3B+ has been working reliably since putting the Sandisk Micro SD card in it.

I got a reply, sort of, about not being able to access the video feed in motion eye in IE on port 8081.

Accessing a MJPEG stream directly from the browser often does not work.
Moreover, the MJPEG stream is provided by Motion, not motionEye.

He then closed / locked my thread. Not a big deal actually as the feed on port 80 is actually better.
I'm seeing other people with the lost feed and having to hard reboot issue. No real answer as to why though. Mine appears to be Ok now, only time will tell.

(51, 0, 51) won't be very bright, especially if brightness is set to (0.5) < 1/2. For testing I'd probably set the brightness to 1.0 which I think is full bright. and try (255, 0, 255) or something.
Running full Raspbian or the Lite? Time set to 12H or 24H, I don't think it matters but wouldn't hurt to set it to 24H in raspi-config.
I have a Unicorn Hat HD, that with a few edits I should be able to run that code on it. I'll have a look see later on in the day and have a go at running the equivalent code.

I just did the code edits to run it on mu Hat HD, have to wait for my wife to get up to try it though. That Pi is in the bedroom. Need to find a better place to put it but don't have one at the moment.
I think your going to find it changed, but you just can't see it. Not with the artwork on top, and in any kind of lit room. I'm hoping anyway its just a brightness issue.

Mine changed with the default 51, 0, 51 and 0.5 for brightness, all purpleish. Its in quit bright in a dark room with just the monitor on. Even with the one overhead light on I can still see it. Not so much in bright sun though. I also have the black difusser on mine, the one that comes with the Unicorn Hat HD. Mine is the Hat HD so 16 x 16 for 256 LED's. Thats a lot of LED's. Yours is what 4 x 8 for 32 LED's?
