Hey alpha, I have all the hardware ready to go, keyboard, green mono CRT, RPi3B+ and all the bits and pieces, I just need guidance with where to start with programming. ideally when the pi boots, you'll be welcomed with a simple text based menu that you can select: terminal, game, game, game, net and audio player. then using keystrokes can select any of the menu selections which then takes you to the proper destination. I'm more of a PC man and have a little experience with visual basic, but am totally new to pi and linux
Ah, Ok, everything is built already, cool. I have zero experience with what your trying to do. Most of what I've done is in Python and built on examples already out there. But have a look at this, Welcome to wxPython! | wxPython and Kivy: Cross-platform Python Framework for NUI Development. Might be a steep learning curve though if your new to Linux and Python. What you want to do doesn't sound easy. Not to me anyway.
maybe on of these for Christmas ...lol

135 Canadian, not counting shipping and GST etc. I don't think that's too bad considering what you get. I'm kinda wanting one actually. Once you add in a Pi 3B+ etc it likely will be close to 200. I have a spare 3B I could use. They did a bildge tank on it. Bilge Tank 126 - The ALL-NEW PICADE! - YouTube
