    BSOD while playing FORZA 7, error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE


    Hello,

    I recently faced my second BSOD in month while playing a game, this time it was Forza 7. I am also running the latest Nvidia driver 388.43 for my 980 Ti. Can someone please analyze the attached logs to check what is causing the issue exactly.

    There was 1 BSOD mini dump file which displayed 1 misbehaving driver:
    dc3d.sys
    Filter driver for identification of Microsoft hardware wireless mouse and keyboard device models - Microsoft intelli type pro / intellipoint
    1) Update dced.sys: Updating a driver. - Microsoft Community

    2) Uninstall the Nvidia graphics card using DDU.

    Re-install Nvidia website: NVIDIA
    Make sure the "clean install" box is checked and only the graphics and PhysX drivers are installed.

    3) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    4) sfc /scannow
    5) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    6) chkdsk /scan
    7) when these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    8) Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for 8 or more passes.

    Memtest86+ version 5.01 is not run by time but by passes.
    The more the passes the better the test.
    The computer has 16 GB RAM with 2 8GB RAM modules.
    Memtest86+ version 5.01 takes approximately 1 - 2 hours / GB RAM
    Just 1 error is a fail and you can abort testing.
    Then test 1 RAM module at a time in the same DIMM for 8 or more passes to differentiate good from bad RAM.
    9) Use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture of the results and post an image into the thread.
    If there is any difficulty posting an image use a one drive or drop box share link.

    I have recently got a new keyboard and mouse but did not installed the driver, however I never expected it to cause a BSOD.
