You have already updated the drivers, but are they up to date? Since I posted the suggestion to update them, there have been a few updates released.

I have updated them to the last version possible and still got trouble playing games.
My latest BSOD:

No worries, christmas time is always a busy period.
Yes I do actually.
I have been experiencing less BSOD's by restarting my computer immediately after letting it start up for the first time on the day, however this obviously is not a solution for problem I am having.
The latest BSOD concluded IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL without any driver specified.

Omg I have the EXACT same problems, run the EXACT same tests and troubleshooting (even more than stated here), I tried new monitors because this started happening close to when I upgraded to 144Hz and I am so desperate so I gave it a try and still happens, I stresstested the PSU, I stresstested my GTX 980 to 90°C with no crashes on the extreme tests, only crashes on games like PUBG, R6 Siege Fallout 76 and other AAA games, games like LoL never ever crash into desktop or BSOD.
