    Random BSOD and Freezes

    Hi all,

I've been periodically getting BSODS (recent ones such as (1) kmode exception not handled fltmgr.sys and (2) Page fault in nonpahed area) and random freeze (especially when i tilt my laptop or am carrying it).

    Attached is the zip file.

The current laptop i am using is a Lenovo ideapad Y700. I suspect that my ram might be loose from its slot but i am entirely unsure. I try to keep my drivers up-to-date every two weeks, but I may have missed a driver update, but again I am not too sure.

I appreciate any help that you can provide me.

    Cheers,
    Karl

There was 1 BSOD mini dump file debugged which did not display a definitive misbehaving driver.

    Perform the following steps:
    1) open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    2) sfc /scannow
    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    4) chkdsk /scan
    5) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

I do not have the Oracle VM Virtual Box on my computer now (i think i did months back and uninstalled it back then) but am unsure why it is giving me BSOD error.

There was only 1 mini dump file and when it was debugged it did not display a definitive driver.
Vboxnetadp.sys was not a misbehaving driver. The event viewer displayed this driver as a fail to load.
So there is a residual and it was not completely uninstalled.

    Code:
vboxnetadp	VirtualBox NDIS 6.0 Miniport Service	c:\windows\system32\drivers\vboxnetadp6.sys	Kernel Driver	Yes	System	Running	OK	Normal	No	Yes
There are three methods to turn off windows driver verifier. All are using the windows advanced troubleshooting menu.

    1) startup options > restart >select #6 safe mode with command prompt > type verifier /reset
    2) command prompt > Administrator X:\windows\system32.cmd.exe > type: verifier bootmode /resetonbootfail
    3) system restore
The method to turn off windows driver verifier should be done in the above order only advanced if the prior step failed. If system restore is used the bsod mini dump file is lost and little progress is made in the troubleshooting.

Thanks for the feedback. I will look at any registry leftover after the uninstallation.
