The first post in this thread says s/he also doesn't get a BSOD, and neither do I.

I, OP, definitely don't get a BSOD. Infact, I don't get any *SOD at all, just an instant power off and boot procedure begins, no bsod, no errors, no shutting down, nothing.

Crash is like the Microsoft link, ie 'No hardware errors, no BSOD, no critical event log entries before, just a spontaneous reboot then upon restart'

I've run Driver Verifier as mentioned for the last week, but nothing happened/crashed, not logs I can see or anything. I turned it off 2 days ago, and today, after 30 mins on the computer doing nothing much in Chrome, it happened again. New zip/DM Log attached. Sorry if it's not much help without whatever Verifier would produce, though I'm not sure where to look for that programs 'results'.

I found it amusing that axe0 said you got a BSOD even though you explicitly stated you didn't, and claimed the posting on Microsoft was different because it explicitly stated no BSOD.

I have had the same experience as you.

Yesterday I got a cumulative update to Windows 10 1709 for AMD (KB4048955, taking me to build 16299.64) and so far not had the spontaneous reboot, so I'm hoping it's been fixed (although it wasn't specifically mentioned in the change-log). I'll post an update in a few days.

I think I took that cumulative update yesterday and sadly nothing happened, then today it did so again.

Frustrating as the reboot is incredibly slow and pc so sluggish for a while after I power off again and start again later lol.

The only driver-installing apps I think I have are windscribe (vpn, not used), veracrypt, ans all drivers are from ms update from a clean iso install. I have kcsoftwares' driver update checker app which lists updates to drivers but I've not installed any-and assume windows knows best for them. Perhaps not?

I only have official drivers, and I've checked to make sure that they are all completely up to date. No veracrypt or otherwise encrypted drives. I suspect it may relate to the video driver, an AMD Radeon 8500-series, perhaps hardware acceleration features, but that's only a guess/hunch. It's the kind of crash/reboot I have seen in the past when overclocking, but this computer is not overclocked, and I've never had any issues until the 1709 update.
