BSOD/Crash when a load is on GPU

A few days ago, my PC started crashing as soon as I put a load on the GPU (Even with very small loads such as a game's loading screen), I thought this was because I was running my GPU (270X) on a x4 slot, so I switched it to a x16 slot and when I booted up the PC, I saw that the drivers weren't detecting the card, I thought this was normal, so I uninstalled the drivers using DDU in safe mode, and then tried to reinstall them by downloading them from AMD's website. Unfortunately, I was greeted with a blue screen when I tried to install them. I switched the card back to the x4 slot and tried again to no avail. I ended up reinstalling windows and trying again. Next, I flashed an older BIOS to my card (Probably shouldn't have done this, the version I flashed was 015.041.000.000.000000). This made no difference. At this point, I reinstalled windows and tried installing the drivers again, I had another bluescreen when installing the drivers. It said something about "atikmdag.sys", so I replaced the atikmdag.sys file in System32/drivers with the atikmdag.sys in the C://AMD folder. And then, I flashed the old bios back onto my card. This time, the drivers installed with no problems. I then loaded up GPU-Z, and started the render test on it (the small question mark next to the Bus interface box, its a very light load, I had no other programs to stress the gpu). After 1 or 2 seconds of the render test running, it started artifacting heavily and the screen turned white with black lines running horizontally (Maybe a faulty GPU), just like before the windows reinstall. And the PC restarts. I am running the driver version 17.7.2.
GPU BIOS version I am running right now: 015.044.000.001.000000

    Attachment 155635

PS: I am really sorry if this is the wrong section, this issue sort of fits into both " Graphics cards" and "BSOD Crashes and Debugging", so I didn't really know which one to post to.

My understanding is that an Optiplex 7010's power supply does not provide extra cables to power the 270X and the power draw from the PCIe slot itself isn't sufficient. Are you using a custom power supply?

This is sounding like a hardware fault to me, but it's worth trying AMD's latest drivers for your R9 270X.

    Installed version: 22.19.662.4
Current version from AMD : 22.19.677.25

    Link to drivers

I also saw this event several times, indicating the driver was blocked from loading

    Code:

      Description:

Just to confirm, if you just use the Intel graphics, you do not experience any crashes?

When using DDU did you download new drivers from Dell or from AMD?
Please open the Dell website, enter serial or product number and operating system to view the drivers.
Post the URL or link into the thread.
The multiple AMD graphics card driver bsod were seen in the zip.

I just installed the newer drivers (I did not uninstall the older drivers, i just ran the downloaded file and clicked express install), and rebooted, as soon as i ran the GPU-z render test, it seemed fine at first, but after a few seconds, it crashed with the white background and black horizontal lines. When I rebooted it, it was able to get to the desktop, but, after a few seconds, it crashed the same way again, even though I hadn't put much stress on the GPU (I only had chrome running at that time). I think updating the drivers somehow made it worse. I tried rebooting again and it wouldn't go past the windows loading screen (The blue windows 10 logo with the spinning circles on the bottom) and it black screens after a few seconds (probably when the graphics driver is loaded). I think i can boot to safe mode with the graphics card attached.

Intel HD graphics runs just fine, I am currently using it to write this as the PC wont go past the windows loading screen with the GPU attached (unless on safe mode).

I cannot find the drivers download page on dell's website, When i enter my service tag(5HMBHY1) into the 'Drivers and downloads' section, it redirects me to this: Support for OptiPlex 7010 | Manuals documents | Dell Maldives
. There are no driver downloads there though.

When using the AMD web site as the source of drivers the best option is clean install.
    Was this method considered?

Most often the best option is the install drivers from the computer manufacturer.
The next best option is typically from the component manufacturer.

Post into the thread the available drivers from Dell and AMD so that all of the options are listed.
Then use DDU and start with the Dell drivers.
If problems are fixed then the troubleshooting will be completed.
If problems persist then use DDU and clean install the AMD graphic drivers from the AMD site.

The drivers can be tested if necessary with Furmark and/or windows driver verifier.

Make sure that there is no over clocking while troubleshooting.

Sometimes there are problems in the bios that produce bsod.
