If you are not having bsod, freezing, artifacts, temperature problems keep the Intel driver that you currently have installed.
Plan to change the driver as needed pending the results of stress testing.
Plan to stress test the computer once you have the IPDT available as a tool.
Let us know the progress with communicating with Intel to troubleshoot the IPDT installation.
Let us know what your plan is with updating the bios.
These are some of the latest updates on the Dell website. If they have not yet been updated please update:

You have to turn off the updating of drivers by Microsoft to avoid this
I recall the post regarding turning off updating drivers. I thought that applied to EVERY driver and I also thought MS would alert me when they were going to be doing an update. I had no idea it was all an automatic and immediate process. Of course the system has not crashed at all in the interim.

I am actually very interested in Macrium as when I fall asleep at night I dream of installing a new SSD. Except right now, I just want this BSOD to go away and I don;t want to read even more instruction, a lot of which I don't understand which then requires more reading.

I have not gotten through to Dell/Intel yet. I did run the Intel Process Diagnostic Tool. It seemed to run fine. The results, in green, read PASS. I also ran the Dell Support Assistant Systems scan. It PASSED on 9/21/17 8:41PM and again PASSED last night "all system tests were completed successfully."

What was the problem that you had with the IPDT installation and how did you fix it?
    As per previous post #26
Went to install the suggested Intel Diagnostic Tool. During install received a pop up saying "the installation of Open CL 16.1.1 appears to have failed ..."
I didn't do anything, just continued the installation. When I ran the tool, it certainly seemed to run smoothly. The result(s): PASS

BIGGER NEWS: After running PC all day, this evening at about 11 PM the system crashed with the usual sudden blue screen and failure notice (igdkmd64.sys). I've attached the latest zip of the dump. On restart I did get a pop up window that I've not seen before, it said: "Communication with service process failed. Tray cannot start." I'm guessing this might relate to one of the tools recently installed. This is the third BSOD since the vendor replace the HD and installed Win 10. The BSOD have appeared: Sep 21, Sep 23, and Sep 25 like every other day.

Zbook included 3 links in a message. One of these tied to a graphics driver, the version I don't recognize at all. In prior correspondence the driver number in question looked like 9.17.10.4459. This one looks different and I've no idea where it goes.

As for the BIOS update, my immediate question is: what is the likelihood the BIOS is in anyway involved with my BSOD? I am also inclined to recontact the vendor and point out they never fixed the issue by replacing the HD and OS. Thought?

Attached is a screenshot for doing something with the graphics driver. Please be VERY specific on exactly what to do and when with this driver stuff. When to start in Safe Mode, where is the word for "uninstall," what word represents "install," etc.

I am a dummy and I read quite literally. Thank you.

    1) Download the driver from the Dell website to the desktop
    2) Click on update driver
    3) Click on browse my computer for driver software
Locate and install driver software manually
    4) Click on browse and identify the browser that you had placed on the desktop or click on let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
The list will show available drivers compatible with the device, and all drivers in the same category as the device
    5) The misbehaving Intel graphics driver should now be replaced by the Dell driver for windows 8
    6) Reboot to normal mode
    7) Launch IPDT and post an image into the thread
    8) Post a new zip into the thread

The driver has been replaced. I did have difficulty getting it off the desktop, but it's there now after a restart. I also ran IPDT and again got a "PASS."

Note there looks like another graphics driver earlier than the latest, newer than the oldest.

    Nice progress.
The misbehaving driver has been replaced.
The Intel CPU has been stress tested and passed.
On the Dell website view all available drivers.
Check to see if these drivers have or have not been updated:
    system management
    bios

    Please post a new zip:
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums

There are multiple options now that the misbehaving driver has been updated:
    1) Do nothing except wait to see if the the BSOD happens again and then reassess.
    2) Check the Intel driver and other drivers with windows driver verifier
    3) Check the Intel graphics hardware and Intel graphics driver with FurMark

I'm going with Door #1, do nothing and see if BSOD appears.

Does the fact that the BSOD happens like ONCE every other day tell us anything? Why doesn't the system crash more often? Once I get a single BSOD, it's like 30 hours until the next one.

Just seems a weird pattern to me.
