Were you able to perform windows updates without failed KB# or error code?
Were you able to open device manager and update USBHUB3?

    The prior post was updated.

The event log is still in a foreign language?

    Yes windows updates are finished.

I no longer see the USBHUB3 entry in device manager

I have tried everything I know to get the machine to be in English....

Do you now have full use of the mouse and keyboard?

Are you able to interpret any of the above characters?

Open device manager > click view > show hidden devices > see if anything has a yellow triangular icon > open the section for the USBHUB3 > right click on the rows > in action click scan for hardware changes

    Attachment 150477
no USBHUB3 listed after view/show hidden files
Pc still behaves weird. When I choose shutdown, the monitor shuts down but the tower keeps running. restart is hit and miss.
    reinstalled RST
Reinstalled brother drivers and unplugged the USB from printer (running on wifi now)
removed all other foreign languages from system
no yellow triangles in device manager

Nice work on the HD scan.
See post #48: Please follow in kind with questions/answers.
The chkdsk /x /f /r switches will perform a much deeper scan/fix of the drive.
Please run this command overnight and report the results using the information in this link:
