With 4 sticks of ram in it has always showed errors on Memtest86 version 7.4

when I tested with all 4 sticks in using memtest86+ no errors where shown at all.

when I tested using two ram stick combos using Memtest86 version 7.4 no errors where found at all.

So did you want me to put the sticks back in like they were in the first combo you gave me, reconfirmed there's an error and then start doing the tests you just recommended above?

That would enable the checking of the dual channel.

The Memtest86 displayed errors when it was on pass #3 of 4 in the image.
Does Memtest86 display errors on pass #1or #2? or has it always been #3?

Hey quick update, I ran the test with all sticks in again and reconfirmed the error.

i noticed when I was looking at the summery for the test with the the RAM from DIMM 1 and DIMM 3 Removed that it showed the total memory was only 2GB instead of 4 like it should have been, no errors were thrown during the test (I didn't realize the memory difference until after it was done) but I thought that was odd, I may run that one again tomorrow to see if it registers both sticks

With all sticks in it throws errors in the first pass within 10 seconds of starting the testing

Okay reseated the sticks and tried again, both sticks showed up so I guess that was nothing but a little human error there.

onto the next combo! Will update when they're all done :)

It appears that a DIMM or the dual channel capability of the MB has failed.
Place the RAM back in the computer as it was done in test #1 and reconfirm the error.
Then remove the RAM from DIMM 1 and DIMM 2 > test
Then remove the RAM from DIMM 1 and DIMM 3 > test
Then remove the RAM from DIMM 1 and DIMM 4 > test
Then remove the RAM from DIMM 2 and DIMM 3 > test
Then remove the RAM from DIMM 2 and DIMM 4 > test
Then remove the RAM from DIMM 3 and DIMM 4 > test

So you will always be testing two RAM at a time in the above tests.
Okay I did all of these combos, in this order and none of them showed any errors at all

Okay so it appears the RAM is Okay and the motherboard is malfunctioning.
You could confirm this by asking a friend, or neighbor, or local computer store to test the RAM. If the RAM pass in a different computer environment and fail in your computer it will reconfirm the motherboard as the problem.
Then you would replace the motherboard.

Okay but I just tested all the slots and sticks with no errors so didn't that prove that the slots were working as they should?

sorry if this sounds stupid but shouldn't the fact that th tests show no errors prove that everything is working?
