I have several times seen up to date IRST drivers cause many issues, but then, reading the web it turns out to be quite a pain in the ass in the past.

mdgudger, please follow the instructions of spectrum carefully.
Enter chkdsk C: /r in an admin command prompt, or admin powershell and press Y when asked to schedule the task on reboot.

We'll want to rule out some hardware issues, could you please run memtest86+ for 12+ hours and then post a picture (camera or phone) of your screen. Doing this overnight is generally what most people prefer.

If any errors occur we'll know it is an issue with your RAM, and you'll want to remove all but one DIMM (stick) and then test them 1 by 1 in the first slot.

Follow this tutorial, if anything seems unclear or confusing you're more than welcome to ask us for clarification.

Please note, memtest86+ could take 24h to reach 8 or more passes with 16GB.

I will start the mem test and let it run until tomorrow night. Something that seems strange to me is that I can use the computer for hours with no problems then if I open Firefox, it will crash after a few minutes. I have been using Chrome and it only crashed the two times today.
    Thanks again!
