BSOD during boot up, Bugcheck c000021a
Hello everyone.
If you want to know system specs of a laptop, you can take a look at my profile.
Today, I got this laptop from a friend who told me that it is running slowly. And it was actually extremely slow running. I was then searching for a potential problem when I realized that there is a "checking for updates" loop in Windows Update, which I was trying to solve.
- First thing I've done was setting up a clean boot and eventually sfc /scannow in safe mode with command prompt. The result: corrupt files were fixed successfully. Restart
- Now, another problem I'm facing now is BSOD during boot, error 0x000021a. The only way I can boot into fully-operating system is to go to advanced startup options and choose option number 7 - Disable driver signature enforcement.
- After "normal" boot up, I ran a DISM checkhealth, scanhealth which told me that there were not any errors or corrupted files.
- Because there is a problem with Windows update, I followed the steps from here and ran the .bat file, now I see the date when the last check of updates has been running but I haven't pressed the "check for updates" button yet.
- I've tried to update drivers from Lenovo website but it seems that it doesn't resolve the problem. Although the computer runs pretty fast now, I think it is due to the fact that I'm working in a clean boot environment.
- Lenovo Solution Center also can't execute the hardware scan, I just get the orange window with white exclamation mark, but without any text or reference.
I would like to ask you to help me to figure out what is the actual problem. Before I removed the history of windows update I saw that one of the last installation was update of AMD graphics drivers, which was failed, so I think it could be the major problem here.
I ran sfc /scannow again right now, I got the same result like the first time. Corrupt files, fixed with success.
Thank you very much.
