BSOD, everytime i watch videos on youtube, DPC watchdog violation

    Hi,

Just got my laptop replaced two days ago, i the previous one turned out to have a faulty Hard drive, But i was already getting the same error that I am getting now which is DPC watchdog violation every time i watch videos on youtube. Especially on full screen mode. I notice it happens also mostly when my laptop is plugged in. But seems to be fine when on battery only. But im not very sure about that since this is fairly new and I dont have enough sample size to determine.

    Thank you in advance.

Hello Ivanx and welcome to TenForums :)

Please refer to several recent threads that have BSOD events associated with ASUS laptops and while watching youtube videos. They have all been fixed by using an older version of the rtwlane.sys driver. You have the same problem.

For example: BSOD watching videos on youtube, error Watchdog Violation.

Hello.. Thanks for the welcome. I've been reading previous post and its been really helpful, but I cant seem to find rtwlane.sys driver in my device manager. Im really sorry im not a very techy person when it comes to this.

edit : is the "realtek wireless Lan" thing?

As phil described here the technical analysis to see that the Realtek driver is the culprit. For those who are interested:

I can't show you the exact procedure since I do not have the same network adapter on my system but I can show you the sequence you need to follow.

Right click on the start button and select Device Manager and highlight the network entry
    Attachment 142443

Doubleclick and then open the Driver tab:
    Attachment 142446

Click on update driver and select browse my computer for driver software:
    Attachment 142450

    Then select Let me Pick...
    Attachment 142447

Then make sure show compatible hardware is ticked and you should be able to select an earlier driver to replace the current one. Drivers from around 2015/6 seem to be working.

If you have any more bsod you may need to uninstall and reinstall Intel RST. This can be done by finding the application on the Asus web site, uninstalling it in the control panel, and reinstalling from the Asus web site for your computers configuration and operating system.
